Vanilla Planifolia Absolute (Aged 15 years) - Papua New Guinea

Of all the Vanilla Absolutes I have acquired over the years, this one has to be the most extraordinary oil I have ever come across. I've never smelled anything like it before. This Absolute has been aged like a fine wine and the extraction method used to obtain this oil is rather remarkable.

it was produced using Cryo-Extraction technology. And what is that? A solvent called HFC134-A. And unlike Hexane or Alcohol, it operates at low temperatures, avoids thermal degradation and selectively extracts low molecular weight aromatic compounds without carrying over waxes, pigments or residues. This results in a clean flowing absolute with exceptional aromatic clarity.

The Vanillin content is 12% with a very complex and impressive scent profile. It does solidify so will need some warming up.

Straight out of the bottle, it smells just like Vanillin. But on the skin, be ready to experience a scent journey like no other. It opens with a slight smokey, dry woody phenolic aroma with a gentle sweetness. I can detect lactones and guaicols buzzing around like they're desperate to make an appearance. This lasts around 20 minutes and THEN, the magic appears. A heavenly scent of Cherry and Vanilla and slight nuances of red berries and Heliotrope! It almost resembles Benzaldehyde! Just WOW! The sweetness is still there but not overpowering. This material is not a high impact Vanilla, but rather a soft, sensual aroma which leaves you guessing and intrigued. It lasted on my skin for 24 hours. I have never experienced something so beautiful in a Vanilla Absolute. It's really an amazing oil.

Now, this oil has an eye watering price tag and I wasn't going to purchase it. But after many conversations backwards and forwards, the owner managed to twist my arm.

I have purchased a small amount and I am going to offer some free tiny samples for our wonderful customers to try. There won't be many so first in best dressed If it generates enough interest I will continue to stock it.
